Beyond the Sacrifice – Adha with AMA

As the season of Adha comes upon us, we are grateful to once more have the opportunity to fulfill the rites of sacrifice and witness the blessed days of Hajj.  In every dua and every act of worship, we hold the people of Palestine in our hearts, aching for what our Ummah is enduring.

As we contemplate the story of Adha, we reflect upon Ibrahim (AS), the epitome of submission. He answered the divine call to sacrifice his son. His unwavering commitment became the cornerstone of a tradition that echoes through the ages.

This year more than ever, we left Ramadaan knowing that our work was not done, that we needed to continue going Beyond for those whose suffering does not end with the waning of the crescent of Ramadaan.

Under the banner of the Beyond Campaign, we invite you to unite with us in the noble cause of Qurbani. For in our sacrifice lies the seeds of transformation, nurturing hope and resilience where it is needed most.”

AMA’s Qurbani programme is designed to bring the true essence of Adha to the communities within which we work.

We go Beyond the mere distribution of meat…AMA provides training to local farmers and purchases livestock from them to empower local communities and provide them with a sustainable income even Beyond the days of Eid.

The rites of Hajj and Udhiyyah are taught to communities at AMA masaajid.  In villages in Africa,  beneficiaries are educated on the Qurbani process and participate in the slaughtering to inculcate the Sunnah of Nabi Ibrahim (AS).

In Afghanistan, animals are brought to the AMA office premises where families can participate and observe the days of Eid, and in and in countries like Lebanon and Syria, slaughterhouses are carefully selected and booked for AMA’s Qurbani to be performed in accordance with all Islamic requirements on the days of Eid.

Families, widows, orphans and those most in need receive meat parcels and Eid celebrations are held in various countries, allowing communities to fully experience the spirit of the day of Eid-ul-Adha.

Together, let us write a new chapter of compassion and generosity. Beyond boundaries, beyond limitations, beyond expectations. For true sacrifice knows no bounds.
