BACKGROUND
For many families living in refugee camps in Lebanon as well as in dire poverty in Afghanistan, there is no means for them to find or earn food. Children starve for days, and mothers give anything they find to their children, leaving nothing for themselves. The Bread of Hope project provides the only meal for many families.
PROJECT DETAILS
The Bread of Hope projects operate in Afghanistan and Lebanon, providing bread on a daily basis to hundreds of impoverished families.
Lebanon – AMA makes 3500 bread bags per day. This is distributed to Syrian refugees and poor Lebanese families. Each bread bag has 14 breads.
Launch of Bread of Hope in Afghanistan – 181 000 loaves of bread
We have six bakeries in Afghanistan, empowering those who work in them as well as distributing free bread to identified families
