Food for SA
Millions of South Africans are living in extreme poverty. The spread of COVID-19 and the unintended consequences of the lockdown has caused further pressure on vulnerable households facing temporary or permanent employment disruptions.
Food insecurity is becoming more of an increasing reality for many South African households from various backgrounds and societies, who are not able to afford, even the most basic food items. Whilst people can negotiate an extension of rental or other commitments such as vehicles, etc, … no one can negotiate a ‘lease’ for food.
Africa Muslims Agency has joined partners with supermarkets in communities across South Africa to assist families that have been affected during this pandemic.
